Gas are working with Charlie Nott on a new restaurant project – more to be revealed in time. Here’s something he prepared earlier, which we really, really like. A little place in Tekapo, South Island, Aotearoa. Would look great with an Airstream alongside too.

Generous to a fault

Maybe it’s because I was born in the South, but last year Random House asked me to design a book of recipes for Speights Brewery. Or maybe its because I’d work for beer. Thanks to Random for the brief, Aaron McLean for the great shots, and Maz for laying it all out while I was cycling around Europe. While I was doing that, someone else was designing a book about Pinot Noir. Now that would have been trouble.

Ideas courtesy of Central Otago pinot. Available from Al’s site, Hurricane or Miss Wong in Wellington.

Brown Bag

Here’s a little something we’ve been working on with chef Al Brown. The ‘Shelter’ bag is made of pre-loved canvas from big tops, old Landrovers and awnings. Nell at Good Score did the pattern and sewing, Paul at Brazen worked how to print it. Ideal for tackle or laptops. Only available from Al’s site or Good Score. Note that the bags don’t come with a scooter.

On the Road

I’ve just finished these t-shirts for Ned over at Road to Redemption. A good keen man with an almost unnatural passion for rugby. Illustrations by Mike Yule, who had the perfect excuse for Googling ‘Escorts’ while researching these.
