Check your nearest bookseller for Al Brown’s latest book, Stoked. It’s been a big year for Al, with a tv show (Get Fresh – with some Gas-influenced typography), Depot in Federal St and this little number, coming in at over 300 pages. We’re ‘Stoked’ to have had the opportunity to have again worked with Al, Kieran Scott (surely one of NZ’s best photographers) and the folk at Random House. Stoked. Get it while its hot.

Gas are big Miyazaki fans. When we found this image we thought it was a European translation of one of his earlier films. It is, however, a French children’s story published soon after WWII. If you find a copy, well, you have my number….

Brett McGregor was New Zealand’s first Masterchef. This is his first book and we were chuffed to be invited by Random House to put it together. Photos by Aaron McLean and Brett’s own holiday pics.

Here’s a project designed last year for Random House. The first idea (left) with the final cover on the right. A big thanks to Sorelle for helping with the last couple of design hurdles and a handy bit of Photoshop.

Maybe it’s because I was born in the South, but last year Random House asked me to design a book of recipes for Speights Brewery. Or maybe its because I’d work for beer. Thanks to Random for the brief, Aaron McLean for the great shots, and Maz for laying it all out while I was cycling around Europe. While I was doing that, someone else was designing a book about Pinot Noir. Now that would have been trouble.
